Ma Deeter’s, a historic log cabin bar and restaurant in Luzerne, Michigan, was opened in 1921 by Anna (Ma Deeter) and William Deeter, serving as a destination for travelers and locals alike, and tragically burned down in 2015.

The original Ma Deeter’s was located a block north of town, in a small four-corners settlement on M-72 between Grayling and Mio. It became a popular spot for hunters, snowmobilers, and those enjoying the Michigan Shore-to-Shore riding and hiking trail. 

The original log building burned down in a fire in 2015, causing a significant loss to the community. However, Ma Deeter’s was rebuilt and reopened, with the new restaurant costing over half a million dollars. The restaurant strives to maintain its character and tradition, with many staff members returning to work after the fire.

Ma Deeter’s is a locally owned, family-friendly restaurant with a full-service kitchen and bar, as well as an outdoor patio with a waterfall and pond.
